Casstyle Blackout Blinds -total light exclusion

Whilst working on the same operational principle as a roller blind, cassette blinds provide additional reduction of light , available as dim out for use in presentation rooms or sheilding VDU screens, or as complete blackout, specifically designed for laboratories or operating theatres, where this high degree of light exclusion is essential.

Our range of cassetted blackout roller blinds are marketed under the registered trade name of Casstyle and has been produced and developed for over 20 years.

Comprising unobtrusive headboxes in 3 sizes with side and bottom channels, operating from a range of controls, they are able to function vertically or on an incline and can be recess or face fixed.

All hardware is manufactured from extruded aluminium with nylon endcaps enclosing the drive mechanism within the headox. Side channels include integrated brush strips to improve light exclusion and are suitable for side or face fixing, available in 23, 40 and 70 mm widths dependant on appication. The bottom bar is a single part extrusion with a top slot into which the blackout fabric is locked, and a bottom slot which house a brush strip. Our standard blackout fabric range is a PVC coated fibreglass material, which is both flame retardant and washable, however most other blind fabrics can be used from our roller blind range.

Control options

Spring operation -Suitable for smaller applications, springs are mounted on endcap and concealed within roller tube, blind is closed via handle or pull cord and locked into place under tension using latching feet attached to the base of side channels.

Chain operation -A bead chain sidewinder positioned to the left or right hand side facilitates raising and lowering.

Crank handle -Operates via a 3:1 ratio gearbox, where the roller is turned once for every 3 turns of the operating handle. The folding crank handle incorporates an aluminium rod with angled cardan joint attaching the handle to the gear box. For extra security an optional removable handle is available with a pin-and-funnel connector, which can be quickly attached and detached when necessary.

Motorised control -A Tubular motor with planetary gearing and adjustabe travel limits is intstalled within the fabric barrel. Options include built-in radio receivers to provide remote limit settings and blind control. All motorised products can be grouped to operate together from a single control source.

For full blackout all Casstyle elements must be black, although for room dim-out white hardware may be used along with a wide range of fabrics.

Our new and improved Major cassette system launched for the start of 2010 incorporates design features to make fitting quicker and easier, and the increased profile thickness allows for a quieter more duarable product. The sliding locking mechanism enables removal of the headbox face even after fitting, this enables on-going maintenance, without the need to remove the blind.
