Construction

Headrails: The strong headrail is made of roll-formed steel and will not sag or twist, finished in a diverse range of hard wearing stove-enamalled colours. Ladder spools, along with the tilt and raise mechanisms are incorporated within the headrails of all systems.

Slatting: Constructed from a special flexible "bounceback" aluminium alloy.

They are treated by a special process and stove enamelled to make them resistant to abrasion, peeling, scratching, dulling, discoloration and corrosion. This is far superior to the PVC slatted products sold by some other suppliers.

Bottom rails: The bottom rail is a roll-formed tubular section of stove-enamelled steel. The width and curvature created to mirror that of the slats. The bottom rail is rigid enough in design to effectively prevent bending when the blind is raised.

Raise and Tilt mechanism: The pre-strectched lift cords are between 1.2 mm thick and 3 mm thick (dependant on system), braided polyester with a core of rayon threads, linked to a cord equalizer component to ensure consistant level raising and lowering of blind. The cord lock holds the blind at any height, and is deisgned so as not to cause fraying.
The ladder strings are made of polyester, these attach to the tilt mechanism via nylon tilt spools within the headrails. The precision tilt mechanism used on Micro and Petite systems is operated by a translucent tilt wand, which is twisted to angle the slats to the desired position. Slat tilting on larger Midi and Major headrails is via two cords, one cord is pulled to tilt open, the pulled to tilt the slats closed.

Along with the precise control over light provided by the slats, the diverse range of control options are what make Venetian blinds so popular. As well as the stardard cord and wand controls, Ventian blinds can be operated via, crank handle, motorised, endless cord loop, ball chain gear, and knob-tilt cable for use in partition and secondary glazing.
